Walking and mountain biking
If you want to go walking with family or friends, the Tarentaise region and the Vanoise National Park are the most wonderful places for catching a glimpse of chamois, ibex or marmots.
The Tourist Offices are happy to provide maps and guides with all the suitable information for the best routes for all levels and ages of walkers.
In summer the ski lifts are open to take people quickly and easily up into the mountains. They are also adapted for mountain bikes. Check with the Tourist Offices in the valley for information.

White water Sports
Rafting, Hydrospeed, Hotdog/, Canoë raft, Canyoning. The River Isere has a worldwide reputation for white water kayaking and regularly hosts the World and French canoe kayak championships.
Why not go for a trip down through the famous Isere rapids for a fun, safe, exhilarating experience with France Raft, an established white water company, with a team of friendly professional guides. There are trips for all levels including families with children from 9 years old. For those with previous experience there’s the exciting River Doron trip with its notorious grade 5 rapids.

Why not try the experience of fishing in the mountains! Fario trout can be caught using fly fishing, lure fishing or live-bait fishing.
The area is classed in the 1st category (river or trout lake).
There are 2 catch and release areas (Isere & Doron de Chavière) and a 1 catch area on the Doron de Bozel above Brides. NB. These areas are susceptible to the snow melt in the spring to the beginning of summer.
The mountain lakes nearby are also a great opportunity for walking and fishing expeditions.
